Dick Franks is a veteran media professional with experience in newspaper and magazine publishing. Prior to joining M. Roberts Media he was the CEO of Open Sky Media, a magazine publisher in Austin. Previously, he was CEO of American Community Newspapers and has been with other newspaper companies, including a 17 year career with Dispatch Printing Co. in Ohio, the Eagle Tribune in Massachusetts and Westward Communications in Houston which published more than 80 community newspapers in Texas, Arkansas and Colorado. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was awarded the Bronze Star and two Army Commendation Medals for service as a first lieutenant in Vietnam.

Stephen McHaney has more than 20 years of experience in the media industry. His experience includes stints as Director of New Media and Vice President/CFO of the Victoria Advocate. He most recently served as Co-Publisher of the Victoria Advocate prior to relocating to East Texas to take the helm as Publisher at the Longview News-Journal in 2012. Stephen earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University in 2004. Stephen and his wife, Amy, reside in Longview with their four children.

Dan Easton currently serves as Publisher of the Victoria Advocate. He represents the third generation of ownership of the newspaper, and has led much of transition to a digital media company. Dan has formerly served as IT Director, Digital Director, VP/Interactive, Assistant GM, and Board Member. Prior to his role at the Advocate, Dan was VP of Operations for Inquisite, Inc, an Austin-based software startup of parent Catapult System Corp. Dan is a native Texan, born in Houston and graduating high school in Corpus Christi. Dan graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1995. He is married to Camille McHaney Easton and has two children.
Chief Financial Officer – M. Roberts Media
Denise Lytle joined the company in January 2014 as Chief Financial Officer. At M. Roberts Media, Lytle oversees the financial and accounting functions of the Longview News-Journal, Marshall News Messenger, Panola Watchman and the Victoria Advocate. Prior to joining M. Roberts Media, she worked for American Consolidated Media as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Lytle has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University at College Station and is a Certified Public Accountant.
